From the 4th of August 2021 all trainees who are greater than 12 months from their CCT date(not pro rata) will transition to the 2021 ICM curriculum this includes less than full time trainees, trainees out of programme and those on or returning from maternity leave or sickness absence. - It will be clear to all trainees and trainers when the transition will occur to the new curriculum.
- It will ensure transition to the new curriculum is equitable for all trainees.
- It has the potential to allow trainees who have already achieved their necessary capabilities or outcomes to progress to the next Stage of training at the time of transition. This will be possible since the new curriculum is outcomes based and not dependent on time spent in training.
- It will ensure both the FICM and the local deaneries can dedicate resource to supporting the new curriculum.
- It will facilitate easier and more efficient management of a single ePortfolio system
